When to Replace Your Office Furniture

Having trouble deciding when it's time to replace your office furniture? Check out these 6 signs it's time to change things up.

1. It's old and outdated.

Office furniture says a lot about a companies atmosphere and attitude. If your office furniture is outdated, your employees will notice and can tend to operate in a slow, outdated manner. Updating office furniture can boost morale and give your company a new sense of self.

2. It's not team friendly.

Offices are spaces for collaboration & productivity. Often times, poorly designed or selected furniture can hurt collaboration and lead to a decrease in productivity. There seem to be more and more open workspaces and collaboration spaces within office settings all centered around specific furniture items. Make sure your office is ready for the ever changing landscape.

3. It's falling apart

This one might be obvious but you'd be surprised how many offices have furniture that have be "quick-fixed" and never replaced. If you want your employees to take their work seriously, don't repair your office furniture with duct tape.

4. It's not tech friendly

Nobody like a bundle of wires and cables cluttering up desks or conference tables. If your office furniture is not made to neatly organize that mess, it might be time to upgrade.

5. It looks cheap

It's very easy to spot a cheap and poorly made piece of furniture. It usually looks like somebody slapped a "wood-look" sticker on a piece of cardboard and called it a desktop. Bottom line, employees are more likely to take care of nice furniture than cheap furniture.

6. There is no consistent office style

It's great to walk into an office and see the thought put into the style and arrangement of the furniture. Your employees think the same. If you have been updating furniture one piece at a time, your office could look like a random mix of styles that can be confusing and mentally busy for your employees.
